I am tired...
Today, we have a low-energy podcast as titled in the subject above.
I am exhausted about the current happenings in Nigeria, and we are reminded all over again that Nigeria does not care for its own.
Over thirty states are experiencing floods, where hundreds of people have lost their lives, and thousands have lost homes, properties, and sources of livelihood. And our leaders are carrying on like nothing is happening. When they brought this catastrophe upon us by refusing to erect a counter dam to mitigate the Cameroonian dam years ago. But, they entered a second agreement about notifying us when they want to release water. Meaning they were aware, refused to move people and folded their arms watching the mayhem unfold without any care in the world.
On another note, it has been two years since the Nigerian government opened fire on its citizens at the Lekki toll gate in 2020, who were peacefully demanding good governance that they put an end to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS). Two years later, no one has been named or charged for giving the bloody order.
Yesterday again, the protesters led by Folarin Folana (Falz) and Adebowale Adedayo (Mr Macaroni), the Nigerian police released tear gas on Nigerians who wanted to remember the lost souls, the trauma some people have to live with for the rest of their lives.
Sigh!
We cannot do much than let our voices be heard and help people around us in any way we can. The speaking would be in the 2023 elections.
Do everything you are supposed to do and ensure you vote for the right candidate who would not neglect the masses.
If you are feeling exhausted like me, take out time to rest.
Talk to your loved ones about how you are feeling.
Create and maintain healthy habits that give you joy.
Enjoy the episode!
